DETAILS

The Shakespeare Sigma fly rods are amazingly well specified for the price.

- 4 piece carbon rod blanks (with a matt, low flash finish)
- High quality cork handles (AA grade)
- Titanium Oxide Stripper rings
- Stainless steel single leg guides (greyed to reduce flash)
- Metal screw-up reel seats (grey anodised finish)
- Keeper ring
- Smart and professional colour scheme (varnished black whippings, green contrasting stripes).
- Partitioned cordura rod tube for protection and convenience.

VERSIONS

All the sigma fly rods are 4 piece,

- 7' #3 fly rod: half wells handle - Ideal very light river rod
- 8' #4 fly rod: half wells handle - Light river fly rod
- 8'6 #5 fly rod: half wells handle - River rod for trout and grayling fishing
- 9' #5 fly rod: half wells handle - Good nymphing rod for stillwater and river fishing
- 9' #6 fly rod: half wells handle - All round rod for rivers and stillwater fishing
- 9'6 #7 fly rod: full wells handle - Great rod for stillwater fishing
- 10' #7 fly rod: full wells handle with fighting butt - For larger stillwaters and boat fishing

OUR OPINION

The Shakespeare Sigma supra fly rods show a great deal of thought has gone into their design. They look very smart and the matt rod blank and grey metal fixings are a great way to avoid spooking the fish.

Four piece rods are extremely convenient for carrying around and the protective rod tube is also well thought out. The use of partitions means you can just slide the sections in and out without having to put them into a rod bag first.

If I could change one thing on the rods I'd probably fit an oversized tip ring but this is maybe just me being picky. Other than that these are really very goods for the money. They're probably the best rods around at this sort of price point and shakespeare have done a good job of covering all the different versions so there's a rod for every use.
